Terms
What this site is, what it is not, and the limits of what you can rely on.
This is general information, not medical or physiotherapy advice. Guides describe common practice for healthy adults learning yoga. They are not a diagnosis, a treatment plan or personalised instruction for your body. An existing injury, pregnancy, recent surgery, a joint or spinal condition, or pain that is sharp, radiating or accompanied by numbness belongs with a doctor or physiotherapist before you practise.
Move within your own range. A written guide cannot see you. Come out of any pose that hurts, work at the depth where you can still breathe evenly, and treat every modification we name as a legitimate version of the pose rather than a lesser one.
Teachers and studios change. Where a guide describes what a style or a class format is like, that is a general description at the time of the last review. Individual teachers vary enormously, and the class in your town is the authority on what that class is.
Prices are indicative. Every figure on this site is an order-of-magnitude guide and varies by country, brand and retailer.
No commercial relationship with the studios, apps or brands we discuss. We are not paid for coverage and we do not sell what we write about. Nothing here is an offer to sell.
Accuracy and availability. We correct errors as we find them and re-date the affected guide, but we do not warrant that every page is complete or current, or that the site is available without interruption.
Content ownership. The text and design of this site belong to us. Quoting a passage with a link back is welcome; republishing whole guides is not.
